He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph and Helen Migut, Jr. (Gallagher). He is survived by: his wife Margaret Migut (Hern); his son James Migut, Jr.; and his sister Patricia Monaghan of Millburn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in James' memory be made to the Chenango SPCA (Animal Shelter), 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
