He is survived by: his wife Marjie; his children, David Oates (Anne) and Kelly Tabak (Steve); his granddaughters, Faith and Simone; his nieces, Jody James (Greg), Amy Goldy (Billy), Alison Harris (Oli), Liz, Stephanie Smith (Reese) and Margaret Foltz (Chad); and his siblings, Nancy, Teddy and Peter.

The race supports the Bloomfield Educational Foundation, a non-profit with proceeds benefiting the V.E.S.T (Vocational Educational.
