He was predeceased by: his wife Judith (Anema); his son Robert; and his sister Gloria Buchanan. He is survived by: his son Stephen (Lesia) of Greensboro, NC; his daughter-in-law Heidi Mekita; and his siblings, Ruthy Sallick of Garfield and Peter Mekita, Jr. of Ramsey. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
