He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Ernest and Dorothy Scofield; his wife Jane Newman Scofield; his siblings, Robert and Gayle Minervino; his sons, Michael (Katy), Stephen (Marie), Gregory (Polly) and Christopher (JoAnne); and his friend Lillian Waitkus. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
