We bid farewell to Catherine T. (Rybnikar) Lanigan (East Hanover, New Jersey), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 26, 2025 at the age of 94. Catherine T. touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Donald; her siblings, Bobby, Bo, Peggy, Connie and Bette; her son-in-law Dave Morra; and her grandson Matthew Morra.
She is survived by: her children, Katie, Sue, Nan, Donna and Peter; her children-in-law, Barbara (Peter), Billy (Nan) and Larry (Sue); her grandchildren, David Morra (Amy), William Purcell (Alexandra), Emily Purcell (Zac), Donald Purcell (Vicky), Brian Lanigan (Mimi), Catherine Lanigan, Patrick Lanigan, Ash Lanigan and Michelle Boisier (Brian); her great grandchildren, Piper, Liliana Morra, Hazel, Catherine Purcell, Michael and Dylan Boisier; her nephews, Michael Cleveland (Kathy) and Kenneth Rybnikar (Carolyn); and her friend Spike. She is also survived by her kids, their kids, their kids' kids, and all the extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hancliffe Home For Funerals (222 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Kitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church (469 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cathy's memory to Jersey Shore Animal Shelter (Brick, NJ), Hope Sheds Light (Toms River, NJ), Johnsonburg Camp & Retreat Center (Frelinghuysen Township, NJ), or your favorite charity.
