He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Sloane and Rita Sloane; and his brother James Sloane (Serena). He is survived by: his brothers, Ronald (Barbara) and William (Gayle). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and godchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to John's favorite charity, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
