She was predeceased by: her parents, Pauline Rehfeld Boehm and David Boehm; her husband Henry Brotbacker; her granddaughter Julia Kirsch; her sister Arline Hamell; her brother-in-law Matthew Hamell; and her sibling's children, Paul Hamell and Jill Hamell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Beth Smith (David), Harriett Nachum (Jacob) and Teri Kirsch (Cliff); her grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Jessica Smith, Rachel Smith (Mickey), Kayla Nachum, Daniel Nachum, Abby Kirsch and Emma Kirsch; and her sibling's children, Edward Hamell and Mickey Hamell.
