He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Houghton and Claire Houghton; his wife Rosemary; and his siblings, Ronald, Stella, Frank, Stanley and Wilfred.

He is survived by: his children, Cathrine Monson and David Houghton (Maria Rita); and his grandson Justin (Megan). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Derrick's name to Hunterdon Hospice 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington NJ 08822.
