He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Joyce Champion Capes, Sr.; and his brother Dennis Capes. He is survived by: his wife Karen Michalsky Capes; his sons, Patrick E. Capes (Perri Ann) and Eric C. Capes; his grandchildren, Brice and Adisyn Capes; and his siblings, Jeffery Capes, Randy Capes, Dawn Blauth, Susan Pfaff and Kimberlee Gonzalez. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
