She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Matro and Madeline Matro; her husband Anthony; and her sisters, Carmela Matro and Rae Plick.
She is survived by: her cousins, Jimmy and Marty Matro; her granddaughters, Allison and Emily; her brother Thomas Matro (Deborah); her daughters, Barbara (Tom Rheault), Virginia (Justin Charpentier) and Elaine (George Frick); her grandchildren, Tommy Rheault, Zachary, Tyler and Abigail Charpentier; and her parents-in-law, Anna Walker (Bud), Rose Rubba, Catherine Cordner (Dave), Fran Kessler (Richard), Claire Stines, Robert Butterhof (Maryann) and Albert Butterhof (Donna). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

Donations in Virginia's memory may be made to KNOM radio mission, oldest operating Catholic radio station in the US in Alaska, which served the parish where her sister, Carmela, was a missionary; or to the Egg Harbor City Historical Society, or Hammonton Arts Center.
