She is survived by: her spouse Dieter Schmidt; her son Scott Schmidt (Amy) of Midland Park; her grandchildren, Cadence, Priscilla and Colton; and her brothers, Don Buwalda (late Shirley) and Ed Buwalda (Rose). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
