He was predeceased by: his sons, John Traino, Jr. and Alan Traino; and his sister Joan Vandervliet. He is survived by: his wife Caroline; his children, Mary Jo Monteleone (Renato) of Hawthorne and Carol-Marie Fleming (John) of Midland Park; his grandchildren, Jessalyn Traino, Erica Monteleone, Evan Traino, Michael Monteleone and Ryan Fleming; and his daughter-in-law Christine Delaney. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
