Mary Kathleen McAteer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Kathleen McAteer of Hawthorne, New Jersey, born in Englewood, New Jersey, who passed away on January 1, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Mary Cooke (O'Brien) and Edward Cooke; her husband Robert McAteer (Mac); her grandmother Kate; her children, Barbara McAteer-Gruda (Werner Gruda), Brian McAteer (Kerry McAteer), Kim Kane (Brian Kane) and Kevin McAteer (Tage Lilja); her grandchildren, Kyle McAteer, Kasey McAteer, Colleen Kane, Kevin Kane and Madi McAteer; her brothers, Joseph Patrick Cooke and Edward Cooke; her aunt Kate; her pet Sammy; her great grandchildren, Daisy, Rooney, Wilson, Harley, Huck, Laney, Otis and Oahu; her nephews, Jimmy Cooke and Garyowen Cooke; Barbara DeKorte (McAteer). She was also cherished by four children.
As her driving days began to slow down, she found a new way to bring a smile to her face: religiously watching Steve Harvey and Family Feud every night, especially during the pandemic when there was so little to laugh about.
