He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Shook Hartsoe; his siblings, Lee Huffstetler, Boyce Hartsoe and Ruth Hartsoe Smith; and his grandson-in-law Scott Frisk.
He is survived by: his son Donald Monroe; his daughter-in-law Donna Hartsoe; his granddaughters, Kelly Barnett (Jeff) and Holly Frisk; and his great grandchildren, Victor Daniel Barnett, Isabel "Izzy" Ann Barnett, Ethan Luke Frisk and Hartsoe "Hart" Monroe Frisk. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
