We are sad to announce that on April 1, 2018, at the age of 82, Mae Gilliard Essie (Jersey City, New Jersey) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parent Bernice Gilliard; and her brothers, David and Oscar. She is survived by: her children, Robert, Anthony, Reggie Sr., Willis Gilliard, Jessie Rogers, Dawn Peterson, Theresa Highbaugh, Robin Smith and Roslyn Khaliah; and her sisters, Barbara Gilliard and Gloria Gilliard. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
