He is survived by: his wife Jean; his stepsons, Michael and Pierre; his grandchildren, Ronald and Renee; his great grandchildren, Ashley, Kendell, Ronald, David, Mark and Serina; and his great great grandchild Averie.

Robert S. Mathews, of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away after a long struggle with onset Alzheimer's disease surrounded by his wife Jean and step-son Michael on November 20, 2018.
