As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Catarina Rita may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Carlos and Fernanda; her spouse Vitor Jorge Dias Baptista; her children, Daniel Baptista and Debora Baptista (Michael Douglas); her granddaughter Summer Douglas; her sister Susana Henriques; and her nephew Hugo Henriques.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shaw-Buyus Home (138 Davis Ave, Kearny, NJ 07032). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Church (82 Congress St, Newark, NJ 07105).
