He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Tansey and Rose Tansey (Cleary); his brothers, George Tansey (Catherine), Daniel Joseph Tansey and Patrick James Tansey; his nephew Brian Tansey; and his niece Lauren Tansey.

He is survived by : his goddaughter Michele Haas (Stephen) of Ridgewood; his great-nieces, Lindsay and Casey Haas; and his nephew Patrick James Tansey of Manasquan.
