He was predeceased by: his parents, Haig Garnes and Egecile Louise Gooden; and his sister Eleonor Yard. He is survived by: his wife Hilma Garnes of Livingston; his children, Liza Garnes LeAndre (Lesly) of South Orange, Roger James Garnes, Jr. (Vanessa) of Bradenton, FL, Tamara Garnes Mata (Shane) of Verona and Kelly Garnes-Pages (Michael) of West Orange; his siblings, Aurelio Gooden of Montgomery, NY, Roberto Garnes of Panama, Maria Garnes of Panama, Angela Garnes of Panama and Omar Garnes of Panama; and his grandchildren, Justin, Miles, Jonathan, Alexander, Christian, Reina, Andrew, Avery, Grace, Michael Jr. and Stella. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren.
