She was predeceased by: her parents, Mose Barrow and Doshia Barrow; and her siblings, Laura B. Glover, Frances Barrow Grimes, Carrie L. Barrow Ferguson, Ruby Mae Barrow Byrdsong, Margaret Barrow Morton, Ulysses Barrow, Joseph Barrow and James E. Barrow.
She is survived by: her husband Alphonso Jelks, Sr.; her sons, James, Kenneth (Yvonne) and George (Miesha); her grandchildren, Kellie, Sammara, Alphonso III (Lacy), Kenisha, Kuron, Kenneth Jr. and Kiara; and her great grandchildren, Jashir, Jaia, DiLexus, Jailah, Kareem and Ava.
