She was predeceased by: her parents, Catherine McAfee Smith and Millidge Mitchell; her children, Noah Henderson Cox (Kim) of Branford, CT and Mary Cox; and her stepfather Charles "Smitty" Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, Antoinette M. Cox of Asbury Park, NJ, Esther Lowery (Maurice), Jean White (Jeff) and Naimah Moore (Kyshant); her siblings, Kevin C. Smith of Howell, NJ and Tarika Jean-Pierre (Jacques); her grandchildren, Tamiesha Wilburn (Shareefa), Tyshaaon Cox, Tarik Cox of Asbury Park, NJ, Tevin Cox of Branford, CT, Matthew Davis, Alyssa Davis, William Davis, Alexa Davis and Jason Cox; her great grandchildren, Kavon Petersen, Jedidiah Z. Smith, Ava M. Wilburn of Spartanburg, SC, Sapheriah Cox, Tyshaaon Cox, Jr., Zavion Miles, Nyking Cox, Nazir Jacob of Newark, NJ, Jade Cox of Brick, NJ, Shamea and Iquan Mack of Sicklerville, NJ; and her nephews, Emmanuel and Elijah Jean-Pierre of Neptune, NJ.
After a lengthy battle with Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Alzheimer's, she succumbed to Covid.
