She was predeceased by: her parents, Clara Ellis and Frank Sr. Ellis; her siblings, Frank Ellis Jr. and Christine Ellis; and her grandson Karter Gibson.
She is survived by: her husband Paul Ashton; her brother Christopher Ellis (Cynthia); and her children, Aeisha Ross, Vernon Ross, La'Rhonda Chalmers, La'Shonda Chalmers and Carrie Ashbourne-Gibson (Kenneth). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
