She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Virgil Gaines; her nieces and nephews, Yvonne Campbell of Elkins Park, Denise MaGhee of East Orange, Charles Jamison of Pittsburg and Bishop Gregory Palmer of Columbus; and her goddaughter Linda Cobb-Reid of Neptune.
Mother Gaines enjoyed going out with her best friend, Pauline Cobb (now deceased), to the various conferences, and she enjoyed every moment of learning the charge of her foundation.
