He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Blake; his daughter Joyce Pinckney; his parents, William and Rebecca; and his siblings, Joseph Blake, Louis Haynes, Evelyn Commodore (Toot), Daisy Jenkins and Louise Blake Sanders (Weezie).

He is survived by: his son Curtis Blake of Toms River, NJ. He is also survived by four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother Willie Glover, NJ; one sister.
