With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John A. Meeks Sr. of Madison, New Jersey, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on January 4, 2021 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Marie Bowman; his son Daniel Lawrence Meeks; and his brothers, Henry and Pierre Bowman. He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Meeks; his children, John A. Meeks, Jr. of Madison, James P. Meeks (Maureen) of Bernardsville and Mary F. Meeks of Madison; his grandchildren, Cassidy, Shannon, John and Nicole; and his siblings-in-law, Kathleen Garde, Anne Garde, Daniel F. Garde, Jr., James C. Garde and Lawrence Garde. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Interment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. ** Visitors to the funeral home and church are required to wear masks and practice proper social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that charitable contributions be made in Jack's memory to one of the following organizations: The Salvation Army, 615 Slaters Lane, Alexandria, Virginia 22313.
