It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John McDermott (Madison, New Jersey), who passed away on March 7, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his brother Tommy McDermott; his wife Theresa "Tess" Ferree McDermott; his daughter Miranda; his sisters, Eileen Rutledge (Jim) and Marilyn Dolan; his grandchildren, Addison and Mckenna Schanks; and his siblings' children, Janet Rutledge Giesen, Christine Rutledge Smith, Marie Dolan Taylor and Michael Dolan.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Jay's memory to the Union of Concerned Scientists, or the Nature Conservancy, or the World Wildlife Fund.
