He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Louis Wilcox Mitchell, Sr. and Anne Baker Mitchell; his grandfather Mitchell; his brother David Mitchell; and his nephews, Luke Mitchell and John Leatherman.
He is survived by: his sons, Louis Mitchell III (Trip) and Christian Mitchell (Jennifer Mitchell); his close friend Herman Brown; his wife Jean Mitchell; his son Trip (Sasha Mitchell); and his grandsons, Elliot, Alex, Nathan Mitchell, Caleb and Noah Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Methodist Church (80 Embury Ave, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A repast will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Paul's United Methodist Church (80 Embury Ave, OG, NJ 07756), and/or Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Auditorium Choir (54 Pitman Avenue, OG, NJ 07756), Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation Service, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
