He is survived by: his sisters, Margaret Carrigg (Peggy), Mary Beth Carrigg and Eileen Carrigg Specchio (John); his niece Katharine Specchio Barrientos (John); his great-nephew Nolan; his great-niece Emilia; his stepson Richard O'Brien; his daughter-in-law Jennifer O'Brien; and his grandchildren, Nick O'Brien (Rachel) and Kayla O'Brien (Nick).
John's favorite charity was the St. Francis of Assisi Food Pantry in New York City.
