He was predeceased by: his parents, Somers Brown Howardell and Edna; his son James; his brothers, Somers, Richard and Frank; and his former wife Maryjane.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Charles (Mark), Terry (John), Barbara (Rich), Lori (Charlie), Robert and Joseph; his sister Shirley Williams; and his sister-in-law Cheryl Howardell. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
