She was loved and cherished by many people including : her spouse Lieutenant Commander James H.; and her children, Joseph (Judith), James (Lori), Richard (Christine), Julia Purdy (Daniel), Mary Melia (Robert), Jacqueline Simmers (Christopher) and John (Carey). She was also cherished by 24 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
