He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick McCabe and Mary McCabe; his sons, James and Michael; and his siblings, Joseph, Bridget, James, Desmond, Sr., Mary Angelina and Ann Philomena.
He is survived by: his wife Mary (McKnight); his children, John (Terry) of Jackson, Thomas (Elizabeth) of Edison and Maureen Szczuplak (Walter) of Hazlet; his daughter-in-law Halina of Wallington; his siblings, Rose of Kearny, Patrick of England, Lawrence of Canada, Bernadette, Cavan and Ireland; and his siblings' child Ireland. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
