He is survived by: his wife Rosalie Loperena (DeGennaro); his siblings, Ernesto Mendez and Purin Gonzalez; his stepdaughter Rosalie Kurtz (Lawrence); his grandson Michael of Staten Island, NY; and his siblings, Angel Roman, Miguel Mendez (Jenny), Emerenciano Mendez (Julia), Osvaldo Mendez (Zoraida) and Cesareo Mendez. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family.
