He is survived by: his wife Christina Marotta Sipley; his sons, Charlie and Joey; his aunt Carol Gamba (Bob); his uncle Joe Scordo (Mary); and his cousins, Caroline Walter (Kevin), Chrissy Gamba, Alicia Scordo (Andre Hasche) and Joey Scordo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe's honor to the UCSF Foundation, Lockbox 45339, San Francisco, CA 94145-0339 to further research into glioblastomas and other brain cancers.
