John A. Gorencel Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John A. Gorencel (Newark, New Jersey), who passed away on September 25, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Johann Gorenzel and Frieda Auguste Helen Gorenzel (Marben); his wife Mary Louise; his daughter Lee Henri Gorencel; his siblings, Werner Gorenzel and Elly Gorenzel Stumpf; and his grandchildren, Bradley Bandonis and Kaitlyn Gorencel.
He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Fred and Margie Hamilton; his children, John G. Gorencel (Andrea) of San Antonio, Dr. Christopher M. Gorencel (Lynn) of Lafayette and Suzanne G. Ambs; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Gorencel of Fairfield, Jenna Lynn Gorencel of San Antonio, Matthew Ambs (Katie) of Glenwood, Jason Ambs (Bette) and Shannon Ambs Repsher (Leland) of Pittston, PA. He is also survived by six great- grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and one step-great-great- grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association, at the Alzheimer's Chapter, 57 North Franklin St., Wilkes Barre, PA 18701.
