She was predeceased by: her mother Esteria Gentry; her sister Reola Ann Gentry; her sons, John Gentry and Darryl Gentry; her stepdaughter Jessie Smith; and her grandsons, John and Inslow Gentry.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Smith; her children, Stella Gentry (NC), Mary Gentry (NC), Pabaleto Winters (NC), Keisha Green (MD), Nyree Winters (PA) and Tyree Winters; her stepchildren, Valeria Gentry, Fatima Islam, Renee Lawrence and Charles Smith, III (Mary); her siblings, Lurean Carter (MI), Johnnie Ruth Vaughn, Josephine Gentry (NC), Linda Gentry (NC) and Robert Gentry (NC); and her goddaughter Octavia Khan (VA). She is also survived by 34 Grand Children; 30 Great Grand Children, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
