She was predeceased by: her parents, Ciro Tennaro and Carmella Tennaro; her former husband Alfred T. Bender Sr.; her son Robert J. Bender; and her siblings, Michael Tennaro and Patricia Lambrugo.

She is survived by: her husband John L. Syfor Sr.; her children, Patricia (Frank Warr), Diane (James Dalcourt), Alfred T. Jr. (Nancy Bender) and Gary D. (Jodi Bender); and her sister Jean Smith. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19 private arrangements were held at the convenience of the family.

“On April 30, 1999, I found my extended family in New Jersey. It has been a sad but wonderful experience getting to know them. Gerri and I met for the first time in 1999, at the funeral of Patti. She invited us to visit her and her family, which we did later. Gerri met us in Florida and we met Sonny & Bernie and family several times. Gerri came to Ohio and met my family. I cannot express how much I love them and appreciate their acceptance into the family. Thank you Gerri for your love.”
