He is survived by: his children, Barbara Phillips and Jim Scales, Jr.; his wife Brenda; his grandchildren, Jeri, Dustin, Richie Paul, Mary, Kelly and Katie; his great grandchildren, Makayla, Austin, Zoe, Abby and Anna; his sisters, Kathleen Maloney and Ann McManus; Janice Grzesik (Richard Grzesik), Laura McDonnell (Andrew) and Julia Scales.
