He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Y. Budd; and his children, Louis III, Richard, Susan and Carolyn. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Newton or Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Newton.
