He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor and Vito; his brother Vito Sampogna; and his wife Annmarie. He is survived by: his children, Kristen, Joseph (Jackie) and Kimberly (Jorge); his grandchildren, TJ, Jimmy, Annmarie, Matthew, Joey and Alex; his wife's child Ali; and his pet Mercedes.

In lieu of flowers, Joe has requested donations to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
