With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eleanor M. Vekony of Ocean City, New Jersey, who passed away on July 15, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Christie and Isobel Christie; her sisters, Peggy Costello and Norma Cassey; and her grandson Tanner Griffith.
She is survived by: her children, Drew, Doug, David, Donald Griffith and Dawn Paone (Lou); her grandchildren, Kelly Rose (Dan), Dana Neil (Troy), Shannon Skinner (Frank), Christine Hallowell, Tyler Griffith (Jenna), Louis Paone (Sami), Alexis Paone, Trevor Paone and Hunter Paone; and her great grandchildren, Devin, Riley, Tucker, Harper, Matheson, Mallie, Ben, Jack, Caden, Zeke, Finley and Salvatore.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo (644 South Shore Rd., Palermo, NJ 08223). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Godfrey Funeral Home (644 South Shore Rd., Palermo, NJ 08223).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital and Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive.
