As Peter Alan departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Peter Alan. Though Peter Alan may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Peter Gehrke and Evelyn Gehrke; his spouse Meredith Martindale Gehrke; his son Jeremy Gehrke (Meghan Gehrke); his grandchildren, Cecilia, Landon and Charles; and his siblings, John Gehrke (Elizabeth) and Nancy Spidell (Bruce). He was also cherished by his nieces and nephew.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Peter's United Methodist Church (501 E 8th St, Ocean City, NJ 08226). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

His contributions to the community were numerous, including coaching soccer and baseball, serving his church, and holding roles such as ordained Deacon and Elder Moderator at Chatham Presbyterian Church.
