She was predeceased by: her husband John L. Shahdanian; and her brother Martin Nalbandian. She is survived by: her children, John L. Shahdanian II (Kelly), Diana M. Cascone (John Scott) and Mark H. Shahdanian (Patricia); her grandchildren, John III, Alexander, Lauren, Gabriella, Nora, Sofia, Austin and Margaret; her siblings, Henry Nalbandian (Thalia), Walter Nalbandian (Nouvian) and Nora Simonian (Joseph); and her siblings' children, Arthur, Matthew (Nina), Melissa (Brian), Gregory (Kelly), Christopher (Laura), Elizabeth (Peter), Adam, Joseph (Karine), Nairi (Marc), James and Tommy (Stephanie).

The family requests donations be made in Tinjya's memory to the Daughters of Vartan, 12-61 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410 or the Women's Club of Old Tappan, 89 Old Tappan Road, Old Tappan, NJ 07675.

“Dear Shahdanian Family: We met Tinya at our Wedding Day 8.20.2006, 19 years ago with John on our special day. We would see Tinya; John at church Bergen County Food Festivals until we moved out in 2014. We would exchange Christmas Cards over the years with the Shahdanian family. We saw Tinya last at Noubar Boyajian's Wake in June 2025. Our thoughts; prayers are with your family; friends during this difficult time; always. RIP Tinya with John in heaven.
