He was predeceased by : his parents, Erna V. Anby and Douglas Simpson Voorhis, Sr.; his wife Patricia A. Kelleher; his son Douglas S. Voorhis, III; his son-in-law Louis R; and his sisters, Marilyn Victoria Kempton and Merna Elise Clemens.

He is survived by : his children, John Hegarty (Kathleen), Dawn Molina, Patricia E. Voorhis (Joseph Siecinski) and Robert Voorhis (Kelly); his grandchildren, John Hegarty, Michael Hegarty, Alexander Molina, Samantha Molina, Christopher Molina, Nicholas Molina, Matthew Molina, Joseph P. Siecinski, Julianne Siecinski, Christopher Voorhis, Alexandra Voorhis, Olivia Voorhis and Peter Voorhis; and his great grandchildren, Shane Hegarty, Evelyn Hegarty, Sadie Hegarty and Penelope Hegarty. He is also survived by many loving nieces, cousins and friends.
