He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Speaks and Essie Speaks. He is survived by: his wife Mildred; his children, Melvin Jr., Tiffany Boulware (Jermaine) and Deanna; his stepdaughter Monique Wilson (Troy Harder); his brother James; his sister-in-law Gloria; his sibling's children, Orlando and Kira; and his grandchildren, Shamayyah, Nia, Jermaine, Jordan, Logan, Terrik, Rashid, Joseph, Kayson, Tobias and Madysin.
