He was predeceased by: his parent John Wesley Vernam Sr.. He is survived by: his parent Etta Sandford Vernam; his stepmother Lina Wrenn Vernam; his wife Gloria Mayer Vernam; his sister Carol Hill; and his daughters, Penny Vaccarino (John), Marilyn Skidmore (Byron) and Gail Fine (John). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
