He was predeceased by: his wife Nicolasa; and his parents, Francisco Tavera and Clementina Tejada. He is survived by: his children, Cruz "Nellie" Tejada, Lourdes Sanchez (Jorge), Jose Tejada, Elena Sanchez (Jhosan Estevez), Mariselys Pacheco (Ouibuio) and Maria Tejada (Santiago). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
