He was predeceased by: his wife Frances MacNeill; his grandson Anthony; and his brother Charles. He is survived by: his children, Sandra A. McAdams (Garry), Christine E. Harris, Denise A. McNally (Stephen), Cheryl A. Hilberg (Erik) and James J. MacNeill, Jr. (Aline); his grandchildren, Liz, Becca, Britney, Tyler, Cole, Dominic, Carli, Nathan and Noah; his sister Betty; his sister-in-law Donna Hollinsgworth; his nephew Ryan; and his friend Debbie Lenzner.
