He was predeceased by: his parents, George Georgakopoulos and Vassiliki Georgakopoulos. He is survived by: his wife Markella Georgakopoulos (Xenakis); his children, George Georgakopoulos (Patricia) and Vana Lhanis (Sarantis); his siblings-in-law, Maria, Haroula and Jack; and his nephew George Georgakopoulos.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the: Iconography Fund for St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
