He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lynch and Mary McEvoy Lynch; his brother David Lynch; and his wife Marilyn A. Lynch. He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy van der Horst and Cara Lynch; his sons-in-law, Jan van der Horst and Rafael Alvarez; his sisters, Diane (Gerard Feeney), Elizabeth (Matthew Schiebel) and Jane Glussi; his sister-in-law Mary Lynch; and his grandchildren, Rose van der Horst and Rafael Alvarez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
