She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joanarosa Marques Vieira and Jose of Oliviera Carvalho; and her husband Eric Carlen. She was also cherished by her husband.
A devoted daughter, she and her husband traveled frequently to Portugal up through the eve of the pandemic, and she maintained close friendships with many friends she had known since childhood, and easily made many important new friendships through her life, so that she is very sadly missed by many people on both sides of the Atlantic.
Memorial donations may be made to support breast cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital.
